About the Engineering & Technology Institute

Clarksville Christian School (CCS) in conjunction with Project Lead The Way (PLTW) has launched an Engineering & Technology Institute (ETI). A pilot program for our freshman class at CCS was launched during the 2019-20 school year. ETI was created to promote greater interest in engineering careers and to provide students with the opportunity to gain more in-depth knowledge as well as to meet the rising demand for engineering professionals.

Our Educational Partner

The Leadership - PLTW is a well-established, well-respected organization that prides itself in bringing real-world knowledge into the K-12 school setting.  The PLTW Board of Directors is comprised of senior executives from several high profile organizations and is further supported by national partners such as Lockheed, Chevron, Autodesk, and Verizon.

The Curriculum - The curriculum was developed by leaders in business and education, and it places emphasis on helping students explore career paths, engage in problem solving and process thinking, develop technical knowledge and skills, and build communication skills.  The extensive professional development and training made available to teachers is designed to quickly immerse teachers in the PLTW approach and empower them to bring the curriculum to life in their classrooms.  PLTW also provides numerous other resources to help teachers prepare and lead.  PLTW also provides professional networking opportunities that enable teachers from across the country to work together to share ideas and innovations. One of the most exciting aspects of the CCS Engineering & Technology Institute is that PLTW requires partner schools to create an Advisory Board comprised of local engineering and technology professionals.  These professionals would help oversee curriculum, serve as guest teachers, provide job shadowing and internship opportunities, and other support.
